try the different shapes or allow random rotation of pieces.

puzzle pieces. |
|
 |
|
Move
a Piece
Moving a puzzle piece is simple just click on it with
your left mouse button, move it where you'd like and left
go of the mouse button to drop the piece. |
|
 |
|
Connect
Two Pieces Together
To connect two pieces together just place one piece next
to another where a connection seems logical. If it is
a perfect match the two pieces will snap together.
Tip: Couple ways to judge if you may have a perfect
match is analyze the colors and both piece's shape to
see if they would make a great match. |

Edges Only
Once your puzzle is cut to make solving easier check the
Display Only Edges check box located in the user interface
at the top of your screen. |
|
 |
|
Sort
Feature
Now that the edges are only displayed start to sort the
four different edge pieces from each other. For example
place all the left edge pieces on the left side of the
screen and the same with the top, bottom and right edged
pieces.
Tip: To use the Sort feature, while
holding down one of your arrow keys on your keyboard,
click on a piece you wish to move. Upon clicking on that
piece it will jump to the edge of the screen in the direction
the arrow you were holding down was pointing. |
|
 |
|
Connect
the Edges
Once sorted, connect all the edges together and you should
have something similar to the screenshot to the left. |
|
 |
|
Display
All Pieces
Click the Display Edges Only check box, un-checking it
making all non-edge pieces to display again. |
|
 |
|
Sort
by Color
Since you will have a bunch of pieces showing up in the
center of the screen it will be much easier to solve the
puzzle if you sort them similar to how you did with the
edge pieces. A good approach is to sort by color. For
example all the dark pieces place them at the bottom of
the screen. Similar approach for other dominate colors
but place them on other sides of the screen. |
|
 |
|
Start
with the most defined areas
Once all the pieces are sorted, it is a good idea to start
solving well defined areas of the puzzle image. For example
with the puzzle in the screen shot to the left the most
defined areas were the bird's eye and beak. As you continue
to solve the puzzle less pieces will remain making finding
specific pieces easier to accomplish. |
