    Question Regarding Reversi via ES5

I have downloaded and installed ES5, i have the server hosted and I am trying to run the Reversi example provided by electrotank. However i am only able to see "1 current user online" in the admin page, but on the Reversi client, it shows "quickjoingamerequest sent for lobby" and stuck there forever.

My question is, where should i put the "server" folder which is included with the Reversi.zip package?

    How to Install an Extension

If you don't deploy the extension and then restart ES5, that is exactly where the game will get stuck, because the QuickJoinGameRequest will have an error due to the ReversiLobby game not being registered. I assume that you are using ES5.3.3, so you can skip the part about adding server level components (the Extension.xml should do that for you with 5.3.3).

Hi tcarr, thx for your reply! i made a little mistake while uploading the extension zip. i had the wrong filename...

so i get the following error on my admin window:
"Extension Reversi failed to start [java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.electrotank.electroserver5.examples.reversi.Lo bby]"

how do i remove or reset everything for the extension? and start over again.

Just delete the server/extensions/Reversi folder and restart ES5. If it starts cleanly, deploy the fresh one.

thx for your reply for my noob questions. i have just started using es5 and unity since yesterday, so sorry for any stupid questions i have asked.
i saw your reply on the unity forum regarding the online monopoly game i am going to do at work.
but me and my other colleague have absolutely no idea how to start, that's why we are looking at the reversi game as an example. we have no experience with game developments cause we only do php, html, ajax.. etc till now.

so i would like to ask if you could kindly give us some guidance if possible, we have another team working on our map, and character models, how would we use those images in unity? i have been looking through websites and youtube for the last day and could not really find a good beginner's guide that explains my needs

and for this game at completion we will be using es5 for hosting and will talk to our boss for the 1000CCU plan to start with

if you have any resources it would be greatly appreciated!

I'll be happy to help you with the ES5 parts of your project, and I can answer questions about specific parts of the Reversi or AvatarChat example. I'm not a Unity expert myself and this forum is for ElectroServer support. For "how do I get Unity to...." questions you are going to be better off asking in the Unity forums.

When I started with Unity, I tried learning from videos, but what helped me personally the most was reading "Unity 3D Game Development by Example" by Ryan Henson Creighton, and picking a couple of the projects in it and working through them. After that, I had better luck with the online tutorials and how to adapt their examples to ES5 for multiplayer play.
