How do i turn it off?

I'm a new user to the electroserver. I know how to run on my computer, but i dont know how to turn it off. what i've been doing is I just click the close button on the top right corner of the window. i wonder if that is hazardous.

also, is there any starter's guide i can find for this application? a link will be fine! thank you very much

Hi migao,

There are 3 ways to stop the server:
1) Click the 'x' button as you've been doing. To the best of my knowledge there are no adverse affects due to this action.
2) Login to the Admin console and stop the server through that.
3) Use the web-based admin system (a Flash app) to login to the server and then stop it using that.

wow, hi. Thanks for replying. I wasn't expecting you to reply my message =). I have your book "Flash MX game design demystified," and that's how i found this website. A great book! I'm learning a lot.

regarding your answer, I am not quite sure how to do the second and third ways you mentioned. In fact, I am not so sure what is the admin console and how the admin console works. For the Admin console, is it the "Administer ElectroServer.exe"? I am not quite bright when it comes to searching for answers. So can you link me to a manual or guide to the Admin console? Or anything about it will be great! Thank you very much for your time.

I don't think that either of the admin interfaces have been documented yet. You'll find doc's for ES function in the installed folder. A lot of problems have already been covered off on the board, so do a search
