Forum maintenance scheduled

The forum will be down for a short time on Friday morning September 30th, 2011. We will be upgrading to a newer version of vBulletin. Hopefully this will go smoothly and the downtime will be brief.

By "morning" I refer to US Eastern or Central time zone.

Minor change to forum policy: users who are not logged in will no longer be able to use the Search functions. This change in policy is due to recent SQL injection attacks that we hope were thwarted; I was getting multiple emails about errors in the SQL syntax from the attacks.

Forum maintenance has finished. I may have to do some minor tweaks to our customizations, as I spot things that didn't upgrade correctly. Please do let me know if you notice a change that is annoying. In order to keep the downtime minimal I didn't do a thorough testing before turning the forum back on. Any further tweaks can be done while the forum is live.

Known bug since update: the new default color for some of the things on the Profile is nearly illegible. Working on it.

edit: font color for links in the sidebar is fixed. Still haven't found a good solution to the gray images on our blue background.
